Rounds of significance
Each year, Hockey ACT holds commemorative rounds, or rounds of significance that OCHC is proud to be a part of. Across all of our rounds of significance we have developed a set of custom playing shirts which our CL1 men and women wear, and other teams can opt to wear if enough players want to participate.

All custom shirts are available for purchase. Please keep an eye on our social media to see when the shirts are open for ordering.

Reconciliation Round
Hockey ACT's Reconciliation Round acknowledges the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to Hockey and to our community. The round celebrates the culture, histories and stories and ensures this legacy is highlighted throughout our competitions, events, and operations.

OCHC is proud to wear our custom Indigenous Jersey's for Reconciliation and NAIDOC weeks.

Mental Health Round-
LIVIN for Hockey
LIVIN for Hockey is a not-for-profit organisation, set up by a Check Alumni to raise awareness around the importance of looking after your own mental health & your teammates too. Each year, the Mental Health round promotes awareness and conversation around Mental Health within the Hockey ACT community. By shining a light on the importance of mental health, LIVIN hope to help reduce the stigma attached.

Pride Round
Old Canberrans Hockey Club has and always will be an active ally to the LGBTIQ+ community.
In 2018 Old Canberrans were involved in establishing the Fair Go, Pride Round and involved the ANU Hockey Club. Each season OCHC play against ANU to show their support. What started as a two-club initiative is now, with thanks to Hockey ACT, celebrated by all Canberra hockey clubs and an entire weekend is dedicated to showing support to the LGBTIQ+ community.

Chris McKinnon Memorial weekend
The Chris MacKinnon Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend is an annual Hockey ACT event where the hockey community goes pink to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. The weekend has been running since 2013 in honour of one of the Hockey ACT community Life Members, Chris MacKinnon, who sadly lost her breast cancer battle in January 2013.
Since the event's inception, the Hockey ACT community have managed to raise over $155,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). This is a fantastic effort and we appreciate the support we have received from our community.

Our CL1 Mens and Women's change into our Pink checks strip for the round, and many of our teams opt to wear pink socks or ribbons, making a donation to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
