Esma Livermore is a proud Bigmbul, Dunghutti, Goomeroi woman living and working on Ngunnawal, Ngambri Country for the past 22 years. Esma was engaged to create an artwork for OCHC for our Reconcilliation Round Jerseys.

Esma describes this artwork as being about community, coming together and helping each other out. Players are a single part of the team but you need coaches, trainers, managers, parents and familes to bring everything and everyone together.

Esma was inspired by the OCHC community, especially the Arnott family, who came together, helped and supported each other when needed.

About the artwork

In 3 of the circles you will see in the middle that there is little dots, this represents the coaches, manager and trainers. Then there are lines dividing it into sections and this represents that dividing of the load of the work of parents and families and coming together to support the players. The black and white symbols represent people: These are our players who gather around everyone that supports them.

The big circle in the middle that connects all four panels represents the club and the committee members who bring everything together. They are the heart of the club and their work and dedication us central to the clubs success. You will see that they are all connected to each other and this shows the connections to all our players past, present and future.

The turtle represents OCHC's story and the country that surrounds OCHC. The dots in the centre of the turtle represents the ripple effect that OCHC has on the community and that we are all going in that one direction.
